Lubian to A Gudina 23 km

Today was an interesting walk with a wide variety of terrain. We started  along a civilised path and saw a deer! In all the time I haven't seen any so that was exciting.  The deer bark like dogs to warn each other about danger. It sounds strange. Then it is uphill, uphill, uphill with boggy sections and pretty tree cover, then finally came out just below those jolly wind turbines. It was really cold waiting at the top but thrilling to see the new Galician signs.

We are in the last region now. Then we go down  and along the ridge entering lovely ferny, treed lanes and stumble onto a small cluster of houses but no bar for coffee.  Finally we come into the next village and find a great trendy bar, all modern and gorgeous with lovely music, murals and atmosphere. When I go to the loo it is really nice and well appointed but the Spanish ability to not finish or repair broken things has struck again. The button on the loo is missing. It still works but just spoils the effect. Anyway the coffee is good and we set of re-energised. Now we are crossing mountain creeks on large slabs of granite, or walking on large slabs to keep us above the mud.  We start to climb again into a barren rocky landscape. It is such a contrast to the leafy green we have been traversing. When we look back to the mountain we climbed this morning nothing in the view indicates how beautiful it has been.

We sit on the rocks and eat lunch. I need a good break because we have been going most of the day with only a couple of short stops. Finally we arrive at the Municipal Albergue at A Gudina. It is quite full already. Some people we recognise but others are new. We go explore as usual even though I feel a bit tired. It is my way of catching up the mileage I missed. Most people just have a sleep then go eat tea. I do like to see where we are and get a feel for the place even if I am tired.
We buy breakfast because we need to depart early. We are going the old way to Laza and need to avoid the construction trucks.  Tomorrow is a big day
I have never seen a sheep with its tail but occasionally you see them here.
